Genealogy Databases

 

We currently maintain two genealogy databases; the old RootsWeb database and the new ICFA database.  The older database is located on the RootsWeb website, while the new database is located on this website.

The RootsWeb database contains over 51,000 individuals; however it is not well sourced and many errors occurred over time. Efforts are being made to correct errors as they are being discovered.  The newer ICFA database currently contains over 22,000 individuals and was begun in 2005 using the original Isaac Cummings Family database by Mary Ann Comings, who used verifiable books and sources.  This database is more accurate than RootsWeb as sourced data is being added from that point, including "Corrections and Additions to The Cummings Memorial...," by Mooar, written by Abbott L. Cummings.

The ICFA database is a benefit to ICFA members.  Click here for a membership application.  The RootsWeb database is public with the exception that notes and sources are not available.
